Today’s scripture lesson takes place on the same day as Easter Sunday. Jesus’ brutal death was still very fresh in his disciples’ memory and now there was news about his resurrection. As we can imagine there was a lot to process and unpack. I’m sure we’d all be consumed and distracted by it which is why when the resurrected Jesus came and walked alongside them, they missed it until they sat down and shared a meal together.
