Inclement Weather Policy

Sunday Worship and weekly program are important parts of the life our church body, so we will make every effort to remain open for all scheduled events.  Ultimately, we will trust members to make their own decisions about getting out and traveling in inclement weather.  We will make a brief assessment of travel conditions around the church and the safety of our church parking lot and entrances.  If there is NO CHANGE to our church schedule, we will make NO ANNOUNCEMENT. If there IS A CHANGE, detailed announcements will be posted on our website, all-church email broadcast, social media accounts and office phone line 360-892-6613.  We may also utilize the Deacon prayer chain/phone tree in order to reach as broad of a membership as possible. Deacons will phone anyone for whom the church does not have an e-mail address on file.  For the most up-to-date and detailed information, please check the church website at www.caspres.org.

Sunday Inclement Weather Policy: When weather conditions are adverse during the weekend, a decision will be made by 8:00 AM Sunday about implementing the Sunday Inclement Weather Policy.  If implemented, there will be no Sunday School, Pancake Breakfasts, or Sunday evening Orchards Home Fellowship meetings.

Wednesday/Thursday Inclement Weather Policy: There will be no Wednesday (Youth) or Thursday (Choir) Night Activities when the Evergreen Schools are closed on those dates due to inclement weather.

Weekday Inclement Weather Policy: When weather and/or road conditions are adverse during the week, weekday activities or events may be canceled or postponed.  The church office may also be closed and/or opened later than usual.

Snow and Ice Clearance: The Buildings and Grounds crew will be responsible for making sure that the church parking lot and entrances are clear of snow and/or ice so that it is safe for members to access the property.  Parking lot may need to be plowed, sidewalks shoveled, and de-icing salt applied to prevent slippage and falling.  Contact the elder of Buildings and Grounds should this need to occur.  Snow shovels are kept in the outside storage shed and de-icing salt will be kept in the kitchen closet under the hot water heater inside the church.
