One day we will each stand before God and give an account for our lives on earth. Did we think only of ourselves, satisfying our needs and desires? Or did we think of others needs as important as our own? Living generously means that we offer all that we are for God’s purposes in the world. This includes our talents, passions, pursuits, relationships, causes, and money. Truly we are only stewards of these gifts for a short while after which time they will be returned to God. In this season of gratitude, may we be living sacrifices full of thanksgiving and thus experience God’s joy as we participate in the work he is doing all around us.
We have "only one life my friends, ’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.”
